Pycnogenol® je ekstrakt kore primorskog bora (Pinus pinaster) isključivo s područja Les Landes de Gascogne u jugozapadnoj Francuskoj.
Šuma gdje se uzgajaju borovi za proizvodnju Pycnogenola® nije onečišćena zaštitnim sredstvima, a svaki srušeni bor se nadomješta novim, mladim borom. Kora primorskog bora ne podliježe sezonskim varijacijama te je zbog toga idealan izvor za proizvodnju Pycnogenol®.
Proces ekstrakcije i proizvodnje Pycnogenola® je patentiran te je u skladu s najvišim standardima kvalitete.
